Backslash is pleased to present a booth dedicated to the work of Mongolian artist Odonchimeg Davaadorj, nominated for the artfair's prize.
The walls covered with a constellation of predominantly sunny drawings narrate the dreamlike and intriguing universe of the artist.
Between shamanic influences and celebration of the living, Odonchimeg Davaadorj offers a world in divine harmony with nature but also a fundamental attachment to ecological and feminist thoughts.

In Europe, she encountered a western culture that was totally new to her by leaving her native country at the age of 17. This multi-layered identity has certainly influenced her gift for expressing her vision of the world via different artistic media, with a predominance for the drawing. In Mongolia, Davaadorj built up an unusually close relationship with nature. An element of nostalgia emanates from the little worlds the artist creates along with an exquisite lyricism.
Born in 1990, Odonchimeg Davaadorj graduated from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Paris-Cergy. Her work was exhibited at the Galerie Premier Regard and at the Salon de Montrouge in 2018, at the various editions of Salo, at the CAC Meymac and at the Transpalette, at the Gallery 976 of Ulan Bator or even in San Francisco, Beirut and The Hermès La Verrière Foundation in Brussels.
In 2013, she performed at the Palais de Tokyo. She won several prizes, including that of the ADAGP at the Salon de Montrouge.
Odonchimeg Davaadorj is nominated for the Drawing Now 2021 Prize. In 2020, her work was to be exhibited at the Parkview Museums in Singapore and then in Beijing (cancellation due to the pandemic). She recently appeared in the window of CAC La Traverse in Alfortville.
In 2021, the Contemporary Art Fund - Paris Collections has acquired 7 drawings by the artist.

Backslash est heureuse de présenter un stand consacré au travail de l'artiste mongole Odonchimeg Davaadorj, nommée pour le prix du salon.
Les murs recouverts d’une constellation de dessins aux dominantes ensoleillées narrent l'univers onirique et intriguant de l’artiste.
Entre influences chamaniques et célébration du vivant, Odonchimeg Davaadorj propose un monde en divine harmonie avec la nature mais également un attachement fondamental aux pensées écologiques et féministes.

Odonchimeg Davaadorj s'est confrontée à une nouvelle culture occidentale en partant à l'âge de 17 ans pour l'Europe. Son identité multiple lui a permis de développer un travail intense où le dessin prédomine. En Mongolie, Davaadorj a construit une proximité rare avec la nature. Elle s'en inspire pour développer des œuvres empruntes d'une certaine nostalgie et au pouvoir poétique intense.
Née en 1990, Odonchimeg Davaadorj est diplômée de l'Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Paris-Cergy. Son travail a été montré à la Galerie Premier Regard et au Salon de Montrouge en 2018, aux différentes éditons de Salo, au CAC Meymac et au Transpalette, à la Gallery 976 d'Oulan-Bator ou encore à San Francisco, à Beyrouth et à La Fondation Hermès La Verrière à Bruxelles.
En 2013, elle a réalisé une performance au Palais de Tokyo. Elle est lauréate de plusieurs prix, dont celui de l'ADAGP du Salon de Montrouge.
Odonchimeg Davaadorj est nommée au prix Drawing Now 2021. En 2020, son travail devait être exposé aux Parkview Museums de Singapour puis de Pékin (annulation due à la pandémie). Elle est récemment intervenue dans la vitrine du CAC La Traverse à Alfortville. En 2021, le Fonds d’art contemporain - Paris Collections acquiert 7 dessins de l'artiste.
